The Agafay quad, camel ride and dinner show package is one evening that chains the three things most people come to the Agafay for, in the order the light allows: an hour on a quad while it is still day, a camel ride as the sun drops behind the Atlas, then dinner with a show once the sky goes dark. It runs in the stony desert that begins 30 km south-west of Marrakech, about 40 minutes by road.

How the evening runs

The order is not decorative. It follows the sun, because each of the three activities has an hour that suits it and an hour that spoils it.

  • Pickup in Marrakech — from your riad, hotel or apartment, in a private vehicle. Forty minutes of road, the last kilometres on a desert track depending on the camp.
  • Quad biking, one hour — helmet, briefing and a guide who rides ahead. This comes first because the tracks are easier to read in full daylight, and because the dust settles before you sit down to eat.
  • Camel ride, around an hour — timed for the moment the light turns. The grey hills go copper and the Atlas stands out behind them. This is the hour people photograph.
  • Dinner and show — a Moroccan dinner at the camp once the sky is dark, with live music and performance while you eat.
  • Back in Marrakech — the same private vehicle, door to door.

What the package includes

  • One hour of quad biking, with helmet, safety briefing and a guide.
  • A camel ride of around an hour, led on foot, timed on the sunset.
  • Dinner at the camp with a live show.
  • Mint tea on arrival and the camp’s facilities for the evening.

Billed separately

  • Private transport from Marrakech — 80 € per car, return, up to seven passengers. It is charged per vehicle and not per person, which is why the cost per head falls as the group grows.
  • Anything you order outside the set dinner.

Who this evening suits

It suits people with one evening to spend and an appetite for doing rather than looking. Couples take it for the sunset and the show; groups of friends take it for the quad; families take it because the camel ride and the dinner give the children something to do between the two. It is a private experience, not a shared coach tour: you are with your own group, your own guide and your own vehicle.

It suits you less if you want a quiet desert night. The show is the point of the evening, and a camp with a show is not a camp with silence. If silence is what you are after, an overnight stay in the Agafay or a sunset dinner without a show will serve you better.

When to come, and what to bring

The Agafay works all year, but the evening changes with the season. From October to April the air drops fast once the sun is down — bring a jacket, and be ready for it to be genuinely cold by the time dinner ends. From May to September the quad is more comfortable late, and the dinner is the best part of the day. Spring brings a thin green over the hills; by July the plateau is bare stone and ochre.

Bring closed shoes for the quad, something to tie your hair back, a scarf against the dust, and a layer for the evening. Leave anything loose at the camp before you ride.

What does the package cost for my group size?

This is the question that decides it, because the package is priced per person and the transport per car. The vehicle takes up to 7 passengers for the same €80 return, so the drive costs less per head the bigger the group.

Price per person including transport, by group size.
GroupPackage / personTransport / personTotal / person
2 people€104€40€144
3 people€104€26.67€130.67
4 people€104€20€124
5 people€104€16€120
6 people€104€13.33€117.33
7 people€104€11.43€115.43

For two people the drive adds €40 each; for seven it adds €11.43. That is why the package gets noticeably better value from four people up.

Which Agafay package should you choose?

We run the same core — quad and camel — at four different times of day, with a different third element each time. The activities do not change. The hour and the meal do.

The four Agafay packages, price per person, transport not included.
PackageWhenPrice / personWhat changes
Quad, camel ride & mint teaHalf day€61The short version. Ride, camel, tea at the camp, back to Marrakech.
Quad, camel ride & lunchFull day€104Lunch at the camp at midday, then the drive back in the afternoon.
Quad, camel ride & dinner showEvening€104Sunset on the plateau, then dinner with a live show. This page.
Quad, buggy & camel rideAfternoon€156A buggy in place of the meal — three machines and a camel, no dinner.

Lunch and dinner show cost the same, so between those two the choice is about the hour, not the budget: the evening buys you the sunset and the show, the day leaves your evening free in Marrakech. The tea version is the cheapest because there is no meal, and the quad-buggy-camel package is the most expensive because it adds a second machine instead of a meal.

Why book a package instead of three separate activities?

The reason is not the headline price, it is the road. The Agafay is forty minutes from Marrakech: booking the quad, the camel and the dinner separately means making that drive more than once and paying for the vehicle more than once. The package chains all three on site, in the order that follows the light — quad while it is still day, camel at golden hour, dinner once it is dark.

The second reason is practical. Each activity belongs to a camp. Three independent bookings mean three confirmations, three time slots to line up, and the risk that one of them has no space left on your date. Here one exchange is enough, and we confirm the whole evening before you land.

What is a Berber camp evening, exactly?

Several of the queries that bring people to this page mention a « Berber camp », so it is worth saying plainly what that means in the Agafay. A camp here is a permanent set of tents on the plateau, with a kitchen, bathrooms, a dining area and usually a pool. It is not a nomad encampment and nobody pretends otherwise: it is a small desert hotel that happens to be made of canvas, run by people from the villages around the plateau.

The evening follows the same shape in most of them: mint tea when you arrive, the activities while the light lasts, then dinner served under the stars — usually a salad course, a tagine or a grill, and fruit — with live music and performance during the meal. The show is what separates this package from a quiet dinner in the desert, and it is the reason to pick it.

Can you do the camel ride and dinner without the quad?

Yes, and it is a common request — a good share of the searches that reach this page ask for the camel ride and the dinner show without the engine. The evening then loses an hour: pickup is later, you ride at golden hour, and you sit down to eat. It suits people who want the desert and the show but have no interest in a motor, and it suits families with children too young for a quad.

The price changes accordingly, since the quad is the part we take out. Tell us on WhatsApp which of the three you want and we quote the evening you actually book — we do not charge for an activity you skip. Our camel ride and dinner guide covers that pairing on its own, including what the sunset ride is like at each time of year.

Frequently asked questions

How much does the quad, camel and dinner show package cost?

104 € per person for the three activities. Private transport from Marrakech is quoted separately at 80 € per car, return, for up to seven passengers.

Is transport included?

No, it is quoted separately: 80 € per car and not per person. With four people it works out at 20 € each; with seven, 11.40 €; with two, 40 € each.

How long does the evening last?

About six hours door to door from Marrakech, including the drive both ways.

Do I need to have ridden a quad before?

No. The briefing covers everything you need and the guide rides ahead of the group, setting the pace. The automatic quads need no gear changes.

Can we come with children?

Yes. Children ride as passengers with an adult on the quad, and the camel ride and the dinner suit all ages. Tell us their ages when you book so we prepare the right set-up.

What happens if it rains?

Rain in the Agafay is rare and usually brief. If the tracks are unsafe we move the quad to another slot or drop it from the evening and adjust the price. We never send anyone out on a track we would not ride ourselves.

Can we swap the dinner show for a quiet dinner?

Yes. The same three activities exist with a lunch at the camp instead of the evening dinner, and a shorter half-day version with mint tea. The table above compares the three.
