We pick you up from your Marrakech riad in the late afternoon and drive out to the Agafay Desert for the best light of the day. This agafay buggy and dinner trip pairs an hour on the buggy with dinner in a Berber tent once the sun drops. Agafay is a rocky stone desert about 40 minutes from the city, so you get quiet, wide-open ground and a clear horizon for sunset.
What you’ll do
You start with a briefing and a helmet, then head out on the buggy while the light turns gold. The trail runs across the stony plains and through dry riverbeds, with the Atlas on one side and the desert opening up ahead. A guide leads the way so you can focus on the drive. We time the session so you finish around sunset, which is when Agafay looks its best.
Back at camp you settle in for dinner under the tent. Expect a Moroccan meal with salads, a hot main such as tagine, dessert and mint tea. As the sky darkens the stars come out, well away from the city glow. After dinner we drive you back to your accommodation in Marrakech.

Is it cold in the desert at night?
It can cool down after dark, especially in winter. Bring a light jacket or sweater for dinner under the tent.
