Our 6 days tour from Marrakech is the long loop north: down over the Atlas to the big dunes at Merzouga, up through Fes, and back by way of the blue streets of Chefchaouen. You travel privately with your own driver in an air-conditioned 4×4 or minivan, so the pace is yours. Six days gives you the desert and the two great imperial towns without rushing any of it.

Day 1: Marrakech to the Skoura oasis

We pick you up after breakfast and climb the Tizi n’Tichka pass across the High Atlas. The main stop is Ait Ben Haddou, the earthen kasbah above the Ounila river, with time to walk up to the top before lunch. From Ouarzazate we carry on to the palm groves of Skoura for the first night.

Day 2: Down the valleys to Merzouga

The road follows the Valley of Roses and the Dades before threading into the Todra gorge, where the cliffs rise close to 300 metres. In the late afternoon we reach Merzouga and the edge of Erg Chebbi. A camel carries you over the first dunes to camp for sunset.

Day 3: Sunrise, then across to Fes

Wake for the sunrise over the dunes, then a camel brings you back for breakfast. We drive north through Erfoud and Midelt, cross the Middle Atlas past the cedar forests near Ifrane, and reach Fes in the evening.

Day 4: The old city of Fes

A full day in the medina with a local guide. You’ll see the Bou Inania medersa, the leather tanneries, and the tangle of lanes in Fes el Bali, one of the largest walled cities anywhere.

Route: Fes medina on foot. Night in a Fes hotel.

Day 5: Fes to Chefchaouen

We leave the imperial city and head up into the Rif mountains, passing Ouazzane on the way. By the afternoon you’re in Chefchaouen, where the old town is painted in every shade of blue.

Day 6: Chefchaouen back to Marrakech

A morning walk through the blue lanes, then the long road south. We break the drive near Rabat before the final stretch into Marrakech, where we drop you at your accommodation.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a private tour?

Yes. You travel with just your own group, your own driver and vehicle. Nobody else joins, so the stops and the pace are yours to set.

Where do we sleep along the way?

You spend a night in a desert camp in the dunes, reached by camel, plus nights in kasbah hotels or guesthouses on the road. The standing is the same as our operated tour, and we confirm the exact places when you book.

When is the best time to go?

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable. Summer days get very hot and winter nights in the desert are cold, so bring layers whatever the season.

Can we change the itinerary or the pick-up point?

Yes. Because it is private, we can add nights, swap stops, or start from a different city or airport. Tell us what you have in mind and we will adjust the plan.
