Our Moroccan Grand Tour is the full loop of the country, fourteen days from the Atlantic coast to the Sahara and back to Marrakech. You travel privately with your own driver and a comfortable 4×4, staying in a mix of city hotels, riads and desert camps. This is the trip for people who want the imperial cities, the blue north and the dunes all in one go.

Day 1: Casablanca
We start in Casablanca with the Hassan II Mosque standing out over the ocean, the one building here you can go inside.

Day 2: Casablanca to Rabat
A short drive up the coast to the capital for the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V mausoleum and the Kasbah of the Oudayas above the river.

Day 3: Rabat to Tangier
We follow the Atlantic north to Tangier, the port city that looks across to Spain, with a stop at the Roman ruins near the coast on the way.

Day 4: Tangier to Chefchaouen
A morning at Cap Spartel and the Caves of Hercules, then we turn inland past the Bab Sebta border and Tetouan into the Rif mountains.

Day 5: Chefchaouen
A full day in the blue town, with time to climb to the Spanish mosque for the view or walk out toward the Akchour waterfalls.

Day 6: Chefchaouen to Fes
We stop at the Roman city of Volubilis and the walls of Meknes before dropping down to Fes for the night.

Day 7: Fes
A full day on foot in Fes el Bali with a local guide: the Bou Inania medersa, the tanneries and the old university quarter.

Day 8: Fes to Merzouga
South over the Middle Atlas past Ifrane and the cedar forests, then Midelt and the Ziz valley down to Merzouga, where a camel takes you into the dunes for sunset.

Day 9: The Erg Chebbi desert
A day in the Merzouga sand: the village of Khamlia, the old caravan town of Rissani, and the fossil workshops at Erfoud.

Day 10: Merzouga to the Dades valley
We drive west through the Todra gorge, where the cliffs nearly meet overhead, and into the Dades valley with its earth-red kasbahs.

Day 11: Dades to Zagora
Through Ouarzazate and over toward the south, past Agdz to Zagora and the old manuscript library at Tamegroute.

Day 12: Zagora to Erg Chegaga
The road ends at Mhamid, and a 4×4 carries you out to Erg Chegaga, the wilder and quieter set of dunes.

Day 13: Erg Chegaga to Ait Ben Haddou
Back across the Draa the way we came, through Mhamid and Agdz, to the great earthen kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou for the last night.

Day 14: Ait Ben Haddou to Marrakech
A last look at the kasbah in the morning, then the Tizi n’Tichka pass over the Atlas and down into Marrakech, where the tour ends.

Frequently asked questions
Is this a private tour?
Yes. You travel with just your own group, your own driver and vehicle. Nobody else joins, so the stops and the pace are yours to set.
Where do we sleep along the way?
You spend a night in a desert camp in the dunes, reached by camel, plus nights in kasbah hotels or guesthouses on the road. The standing is the same as our operated tour, and we confirm the exact places when you book.
When is the best time to go?
Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the most comfortable. Summer days get very hot and winter nights in the desert are cold, so bring layers whatever the season.
Can we change the itinerary or the pick-up point?
Yes. Because it is private, we can add nights, swap stops, or start from a different city or airport. Tell us what you have in mind and we will adjust the plan.
