Agafay Buggy Tour & Lunch from Marrakech
Booking direct with us supports local Agafay families. Read our social mission →
We pick you up from your Marrakech riad or hotel in the morning and drive about 40 minutes to the edge of the Agafay Desert. This is our agafay buggy and lunch half-day: an hour behind the wheel of a buggy across the rocky flats, then a proper sit-down meal under a Berber tent. Agafay is a stone desert, not sand dunes, so the ground is firm and the views run all the way to the snow line of the Atlas.
What you’ll do
At the base camp you get a short briefing and your helmet, then you take the buggy out over the stony plains. The tracks wind through dry riverbeds and low hills, with plenty of open ground to open up the throttle. You can drive on your own or share with a partner. A lead guide rides ahead so you always know the route.
After the drive you clean up and sit down to lunch in the tent. It is a Moroccan spread: salads to start, a tagine or grilled meat, fruit to finish, and mint tea poured the local way. You eat looking out over the desert, with time to relax before we drive you back to Marrakech.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a driving license or experience?
No experience is needed and the buggy is easy to handle. Bring a license if you have one; the team shows you the controls before you set off.
Is Agafay sand dunes?
No. Agafay is a rocky, stony desert about 40 minutes from Marrakech. The ground is firm, which is part of what makes buggy driving here fun.
Can two people share one buggy?
Yes. The buggies seat two, so a driver and passenger can ride together, or you can each take your own for a bit more.
What should I wear?
Closed shoes, sunglasses and clothes you don’t mind getting dusty. We can hand out a scarf to keep the dust off your face.
